The Wild World of Video for 3/4/11

Every so often, we here at the Satellite Show will showcase some of its favorite video found around the Internet or material from the show archive. At some point, Louis, Tim, and I may even produce a special video about the best commercial every devised. In the meantime, we begins with this:

In the spring of 2000, we attempted to shoot “The Satellite Show for Television.” We only managed to shoot enough footage for a 17 minute pilot. Consequently, we abandoned the whole thing. People seem to like “Patrick Stewart Sings,” but that’s mainly due to Tarik, the man providing Patrick Stewart’s voice. I may eventually produce a new version of it with higher quality stills.

I found this on a VHS copy of “Death Drug,” a film we will talk about at another time. It illustrates how a trailer can make or break you. The actual trailer for “End Play” is pretty gripping. This makes it look like the cheapest of productions.
